The Diocese of Lismore is delighted to offer enriching online faith formation courses through its partnership with the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF). These accessible courses are designed to deepen spiritual understanding, enhance theological knowledge, and equip laypeople for service within their communities.

Lismore is one of 75 dioceses worldwide participating in this initiative, which provides three and five-week online courses on topics such as pastoral leadership, catechesis, Church history, scripture, liturgy, and spirituality. Whether you’re seeking personal faith enrichment or professional development, these courses offer flexible learning at your own pace. The courses are open to all adults over 18, and those who register through the Diocese of Lismore receive a 50 per cent discount on full course fees.

Bishop Greg Homeming welcomed the partnership, highlighting the importance of lifelong faith education.  “Faith formation is essential for deepening our understanding of God and strengthening our ability to serve our communities. These courses provide an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth, allowing people to study at their own pace while engaging with rich theological and pastoral content,” Bishop Greg said.

Chloe Nash from St Agnes’ Parish, Port Macquarie was full of praise for the quality of the course she did through the University of Dayton. “I thoroughly enjoyed my experience completing a VLCFF online course. It was informative, affirming, and positively challenging. With the help of our course facilitator, the online resource was easy to navigate and very user-friendly.”
