Ordination of Reverend Bing Monteagudo

July 3, 2014 3:15 pm

Reverend Bing Monteagudo was born in the Philippines but moved to Casino as a teenager where he attended St Mary’s Catholic College. He enjoys taking regular walks in nature and travelling locally in appreciation of God’s creative wonders.

One of his favourite Scripture quotations is from the tenth chapter of St Mark’s Gospel: “For the son of man also came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

He shared a message with young men considering priesthood, “a man who is thinking to become a priest, must have a deep relationship with God and be serious on the real meaning of his calling”.

He adds that his family has been instrumental in his vocation: “Without their love

and support, especially their prayers, I would have not persevered in my vocation, for I believe that true vocation always begin at home”.

Bing has a straightforward hope to become “a good and simple priest who has a deep relationship with Christ and to share this to my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Apart from this, I am also hoping to become a pastor who will  administer the Sacraments to the people of God especially to those who are far from the loving embrace of the Church”.

Please pray for Deacon Bing Monteagudo that he may receive all the Lord’s blessings as he starts his service to the people of God.

Deacon Bing Monteagudo will be ordained to the Priesthood in St Carthage’s Cathedral Lismore by Bishop Jarrett on Monday 7th July 2014 at 7pm. A general invitation is extended to attend. Supper will follow in St Carthage’s School Hall.
