Diocese welcomes Dr Madeline Beveridge to help lead Renewal Journey
by Barry de Silva
The Diocese of Lismore is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Madeline Beveridge as the new Pastoral Projects Leader for the Diocesan Renewal Journey. Madeline’s impressive background in education, project management, and leadership makes her the ideal fit for this new role within the Diocese.
As a leader of religious education at Xavier Catholic College for almost seven years, including as Leader of Catechesis for three years, Madeline developed strong communication with staff and parents, while taking religious education to a new standard at the College. Her work in implementing the RENEW program at the College was recognised for bringing innovation to religious education and enhancing student engagement.
In addition, Madeline has been a religious education and mathematics teacher for the past 14 years where she has taught from secondary to tertiary level, having taught at Trinity Catholic College, Lismore; Southern Cross University; St John’s College, Woodlawn; San Sisto College, Carina; and Xavier Catholic College, Skennars Head.
Since the Diocesan Renewal Journey began, Madeline has been a key member of the Coordination Team. In her new role, she will manage project timelines, support project leaders, and ensure the successful implementation of initiatives aimed at supporting the Renewal Journey.
Bishop Greg Homeming expressed his pleasure in welcoming Madeline to her new role. “We are fortunate to have someone with Madeline’s expertise and passion helping lead the Renewal Journey. Her experience in educational leadership, particularly in fostering spiritual growth and project planning, will be invaluable as we move forward.”
Madeline’s collaborative skills and leadership qualities will be essential as she works closely with clergy, parishes, and project teams across the Diocese. “I’m excited to be joining the Diocese at this important time,” Madeline said. “This role offers a unique opportunity to apply my skills in a way that will benefit our communities, and I look forward to working with our teams to bring this vision to life.”
